One person killed after crash involving semi-truck in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS -- One person is dead after crashing into the back of a semi-truck.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officers were called to the intersection of West 79th Street and Georgetown Road around 2 p.m. Saturday on reports of the accident. 

The semi-truck was stopped at a red light when the car struck the back of the semi-truck. The driver of the car has died. 

Police have not released the name of the victim or the driver of the semi-truck. 

The intersection will be closed as police continue to investigate. 

Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
