Arrest made in Saturday murder on Indianapolis' northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS -- Police say they've made an arrest in the death of a man who was shot and killed Saturday afternoon on Indianapolis' northeast side.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 8000 block of Shibler Avenue shortly after 3:30 for a person shot. 

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died. He has been identified as Shermarke Gibbs, 25.

Police said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and not a random act.

On Saturday, they announced the arrest of Jerrontae Bell, 21, on preliminary charges of murder and possession of marijuana.
