INDIANAPOLIS -- Families of Indy’s unsolved murder victims gathered with community members Monday evening to make sure their loved ones’ lives are not forgotten.

Former Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard and members of the Indy Ten Point Coalition attended the vigil, which was organized by Gregory Wilson Sr. who lost his son, Gregory Wilson Jr., in October 2015.

Wilson Jr. was shot and killed in broad daylight just a few blocks from where Monday’s vigil was held on Indianapolis’ north side.

Wilson Sr. says he was focused on his own loss until he learned that he was not alone.

“I talked to so many families and I began working with the Ten Point Coalition for a while, and we started talking to families and going to their prayer vigils and I realized it’s as important for me to get my case solved as it is for them,” said Wilson Sr.

The families are not only calling on police to keep the unsolved cases at the forefront, but they’re also calling on the community to fight their fear and apathy and come forward if they know anything that can help solve them.

If you have any information about a crime or unsolved case, contact IMPD or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
