INDIANAPOLIS — The Public Works Committee of the City-County Council is pushing forward with a proposal to extend parking meter hours in parts of Indianapolis.

Unlike the original proposal, the one passed Thursday evening does not change Sunday parking hours. It does, however, extend metered parking hours Monday through Saturday.

Councilman Zach Adamson says the funds will go back into the city and programs that help repair and replace roads throughout the city.

That proposal will now be sent to the full council for vote, which will take place on January 7.
