SEYMOUR, Ind. -- Indiana State Police say a 17-year-old runaway from Ohio hopped onto the catwalk of a semi and rode there until another driver spotted him on I-65 near Seymour.

Indiana State Police say that second driver spotted the teen riding between the cab and the trailer of the semi around 9 a.m. He was able to get the driver to pull into a weigh station near Seymour where they called the police.

The teen, who was reported a runaway from Shelby, Ohio, tried to hide from troopers but was taken into custody.

State police believe the teen may have climbed aboard the semi somewhere in Kentucky before daylight.

The boy was taken to the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center in Brownstown until he can be transferred back to Ohio.

State police say the semi driver was not aware of the boy riding on his truck and will not face any charges.
