INDIANAPOLIS -- Students from Indiana Connections Career Academy took a trip to Newfields on Monday to plant a peace garden with Holocaust survivor Eva Mozes Kor.

Kor, a survivor of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, has emerged as a central figure in the fight to keep the lessons of the Holocaust alive.

During the field trip, students screened a one-hour version of Kor’s new documentary, "Eva."

Kor then got up and spoke to the kids, offering important life lessons from someone who has overcome so much.

“As I look here, I know that every single one of you has a wonderful mind,” said Kor. “So let’s use it to treat each other with respect and kindness if we are making a difference in the world.”

After listening to Kor, the students created paper flowers with wildflower seeds that they planted in a designated area at Newfields.
