INDIANAPOLIS -- Former First Lady Barbara Bush made several stops in Indiana throughout her years.
Bush died Tuesday at age 92. She was just one of two women to be both the wife and the mother of a president.
In 1991, she flew commercial to Indiana to prove flying was safe during the height of the Persian Gulf War. Seeing Bush on the flight was an eye-opener for travelers.
Ten years later, in 2001, Bush visited Indiana to talk about her son, George W. Bush. George had just followed in his father's footsteps to become president.
"To see that same fellow that I used to drive around in little league carpools and I used to yell at to please pick up his room," she said in 2001. "To see him as president is truly amazing."
