INDIANAPOLIS — The southwest quadrant of Monument Circle reopened Wednesday after it closed last weekend to accommodate outdoor dining.

A news release from the Indianapolis Department of Public Works said it received feedback from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on usage over the weekend and decided to reopen the southwest quadrant.

The southeast quadrant will remain closed, but drivers will be able to turn onto all four spokes of Monument Circle.

Streets in three sections of Indianapolis, which also include Broad Ripple Avenue, Massachusetts Avenue, Illinois Street and Georgia Street, are closed until July 4 as restaurants offer outside seating due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Indy DPW will continue to monitor new traffic patterns around the street closures and make adjustments as needed, a news release said.
