INDIANAPOLIS — A local grocery store partially reopened on Tuesday after being closed for several days because of a failed health inspection.

According to the Marion County Health Department the Safeway location at 3008 Kessler Boulevard N. Drive had its food license suspended on August 22 after an inspection showed rodent droppings in several areas of the store and rodent urine on some shelves. The inspection also found other evidence of pest activity.

"The store was ordered to cease operations until violations are corrected and it passes an inspection by the health department," the health department told RTV6.

The new re-inspection was scheduled for Tuesday, August 27.

The health department says the store passed inspection for the general sales floor and the meat department, but the deli did not pass re-inspection and will remain closed until further notice.

It is unclear when the new inspection will be done in the deli department at this time.
