GREENWOOD, Ind. -- We can't be certain yet, but it looks like a meteor might have fallen over central Indiana late Wednesday night.
Bryan Bunton sent us this video of the possible meteor he captured with his security camera, looking north/northeast of Center Grove/Greenwood around 11:48 p.m. Bryan said, "this is by far the biggest one I've seen on this camera."
Tim sent us a video from his dashcam, recorded about 10 miles west of Centerville, Indiana.
According to the American Meteor Society,there were also sightings in Carmel, Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, plus several states surrounding Indiana.
A bright blue green flash was witnessed by Officers in Shelby, Rush & Henry Co at approximately 11:50 pm on 1/17/18. Our Officer witnessed the light to the NE of Town. At this time we have not receiving any reports of power outages, may have been a meteor, aka: shooting star.

According to amsmeteors.org, the meteor was seen in Fort Wayne, Kokomo, Indianapolis, Carmel, Marion, and as far south as Scottsburg, Salem, and Washington.
As RTV6 producer Ray Steele points out, don't get meteor, meteoroid, and meteorite confused. Those are three different things.
