Several groups could be behind recent Johnson Co. vehicle break-ins, sheriff says

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. -- The Johnson County Sheriff's Office believes several groups are behind a string of recent car break-ins.

The most recent happened early last Friday morning.

A suspect was caught on surveillance video on Shady Lane.

Investigators say he stole nearly $900 in gift cards out of an unlocked pickup truck.

The sheriff's office is telling people to use their garage if they have one and close the door. If not, make sure your vehicle is locked.

Take all your valuables in at night, stop leaving your keys in the car and report any suspicious activity.
