KOKOMO—It's 2,125 miles from Kokomo to Hollywood, California, but that's where police found a man wanted for the attempted murder of a Kokomo woman.

Kokomo Police say 33-year-old Harron Burnett was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers in Hollywood.

There was an outstanding Howard County arrest warrant for Burnett. According to Howard County court records, Burnett faces charges of Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, Criminal Recklessness and Aggravated Battery.

A spokesman for the Kokomo Police Department says it's not clear why Burnett was in Hollywood.

On September 22, a Kokomo woman told police a man she identified as Burnett shot her as she left her home in the 1600 block of North Apperson Way.

The victim was treated at hospitals in Kokomo and Indianapolis.

Following his arrest, Burnett was taken to the Los Angeles County Jail. Efforts are underway to bring him back to Indiana.
