INDIANAPOLIS — The community and several agencies in Lawrence and on the east side of Indianapolis came together to help donate a bike to a 7-year-old Riley Hospital Kid.
Mashala, a 7-year-old, has always wanted her own bike and has been fascinated with police.
When Lawrence Police Department officers and local organizations learned of Mashala's wish, they stepped in to help get her a special bike.
On Saturday, IMPD East District officers took Mashala to the Lawrence Police Department where she was given the bike.
Lawrence proclaimed Saturday, Aug. 31 as Mashala Day.
