CASS COUNTY — A 19-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash early Sunday morning in Cass County, investigators say.

Cass County Sheriff's deputies and emergency personnel were called around 2 a.m. to the area near Georgetown and Lockport roads on the report of a single-car crash, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

When they arrived, they found the man, of Logansport, unresponsive after he was thrown from the vehicle, according to the release. He was taken by a medical helicopter to St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis in critical condition.

Deputy Chris Jones, who was investigating the crash, believes the man drove off the west side of the road, over-corrected, and rolled the car twice before it came to a stop on the east side of the road, according to the release.

Investigators believe the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the release. If he was, investigators believe it would have reduced his injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to the release.

The crash remains under investigation.
