Man falls and dies when installing holiday decor in Noblesville

NOBLESVILLE — A 21-year-old Gas City man has died after falling from installing holiday decorations in Noblesville on Wednesday, according to the Noblesville Police Department.

After 12 p.m. on Wednesday, police officer and firefighters were dispatched to the downtown square of Noblesville, 100 block of N. 8th Street, on a report of an injured person. There they found Ryan Herring suffering from traumatic injuries associated with an apparent fall.

Herring was contracted from Winterland Inc., out of Marion, to install the holiday decorations on city light poles.

Several citizens and officials were providing aid to the victim at the scene, according to NPD.

Herring was transported to Riverview Health a short time later, where he was later pronounced dead.

This is an ongoing investigation.

The City of Noblesville released the following statement regarding the incident:

"This was a tragic incident. Our condolences, thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family during this extremely difficult time.”
