INDIANAPOLIS — The Marion County Prosecutor says 19-year-old Fairley Griffie was shot and killed in June of 2017 as he left a high school graduation party at a west side apartment complex.
Now, the man charged and convicted in Griffie's murder has been sentenced to 60 years in prison.
According to the prosecutor, 21-year-old Jordan Taber was at the party with Griffie.
As Griffie was leaving, Taber followed him outside and shot him twice in the chest.
After the shooting, Taber was seen running to Griffie's car and grabbing his gun.
Six months after the murder, Taber was arrested in Illinois and brought back to Indianapolis.
At first, according to the prosecutor, Taber admitted to the shooting, only to say later he had nothing to do with it.
