INDIANAPOLIS—Get ready for lots of cone zones and even road closures as the Indiana highway construction season moves into high gear.

A rough winter left many miles of interstates and state roads in poor shape, but there are repair plans.

The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to spend $150 million dollars on highway fixes this year.

About $50 million of that will be in Marion County.

Last year, INDOT shut down a portion of I 465 on the southwest side so repairs could be made as quickly as possible.

This year, it will do the same on the southeast side portion of 465.

"We're going to be everywhere this summer," said INDOT spokesperson Mallory Duncan. "We're going to be busy. So just watch your traffic reporters in the morning, because they'll have a lot of detours for you."

Another highway that will get a lot of attention is I 65 from the South Split downtown to 465 on the south side.

More details about the plans will be released in the coming weeks.
