INDIANAPOLIS — An elderly man who had been reported missing from an assisted living facility in Hendricks County has been found dead on the north side of Indianapolis.
The 85-year-old was found dead in what family member's say was his favorite fishing pond located inside Solana Apartments. According to Indianapolis Fire Department public information officer, Rita Reith, family members of the older man and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers found his vehicle at the apartment complex when they called on the IFD Dive Team.
"Solana Apartment management was extremely helpful by providing security footage, showing the man fishing on the north pier of the pond, on Tuesday, which provided divers with a specific, last known location, to begin their search," IFD's release read.
His body was found along Battery Pointe Way just before Noon, near North Keystone and 78th Street.
According to Reith, the 85-year-old had been missing since Tuesday evening.
