66-year-old man killed by semi driven by nephew in Montgomery County

DARLINGTON, Ind. -- A 66-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a semi driven by his nephew on Tuesday. 

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident that happened in the 7900 block of East Bowers Road. 

Deputies say a 39-year-old man was driving a semi while working with his uncle, Michael Emmert, when he struck him. 

Emmert was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the accident. No additional details are being released at this time.

The accident remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
