NEW MARKET, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a 55-year-old rural Indiana woman killed her 62-year-old husband at their home and waited the weekend before calling 911 to report his death.

The Montgomery County sheriff's office says Sheila Ridenour was arrested Monday on initial charges of murder and failure to report a dead body. Authorities responded early Monday after the sheriff's office says she told dispatchers that she'd fatally shot Billy Ridenour on Friday.

Sheila Ridenour was being held without bond. Court records early Tuesday don't list a lawyer for her.

Investigators didn't immediately release details about what may have led to the shooting and they didn't know why she allegedly waited days before reporting her husband's death. The home is located near the town of New Market, about 45 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
