MARTINSVILLE — Police in Martinsville are investigating after a man and woman were found dead inside a home on New Year's Day in what is believed to be a murder-suicide.
Martinsville Police Department officers were called to a home in Shireman Estates, a housing addition on the northeast side of Martinsville after a man went to visit his mother and found her and her live-in boyfriend dead inside the home.
Investigators believe that Laura Crowley, 59, was shot and killed by Danny Kilgore Jr., 59, before Kilgore turned the gun on himself.
Police say several people close to Crowley told investigators that she had planned to terminate the relationship with Kilgore.
The deaths remain under investigation by the Martinsville Police Department.
