MARTINSVILLE, Ind. -- Police are warning parents to be on the lookout for a man who approached at least two children in the Mooresville Manufactured Home Community.

The first incident was reported on January 31 when officers say an unknown man approached a 7-year-old girl while she was playing in her front yard. The man ran back to his truck and fled the area when the child's mother came to the door.

The man was described as being approximately six feet tall with long curly hair, a red bandana and red shoes. He drove away in a white and blue striped truck with junk and old tires in the bed.

The second incident was reported on February 5 when officers say an unknown man with a similar description approached an 11-year-old boy who was walking to his friend's home on Wells Fargo Trail. The child told police he started running and the alleged suspect chased him. The child made it to his friend's home and contacted his mother.

Police in Martinsville say residents should be on alert and vigilant of suspicious activity and report anything unusual.

Anyone with information about these cases is urged to contact the Morgan County Sheriff's Office at 765-342-5544.
