INDIANAPOLIS — Under a big tent set up for the occasion, 100 men and women from 32 countries became citizens of the United States, Thursday in Indianapolis.
The morning ceremony took place at the Landmark for Peace Memorial at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park — the location of Senator Robert F. Kennedy's 1968 speech, the night of Dr. King's assassination.
The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana held the naturalization ceremony and State Representative Greg Porter (D-Indianapolis) delivered remarks.
The men and women took the Oath of Allegiance and officially became U.S. citizens.
