BROWNSBURG — NHRA drivers Dom Lagana and Richie Crampton were injured Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash near Brownsburg.

Hendricks County Sheriff's Office Captain Amanda Goings said Lagana, 34, of Scarsdale, New York, was driving a 1957 Chevrolet wagon after 11 p.m. on County Road 1000 East when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Lagana suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, according to Goings.

Crampton, 40, of Brownsburg, and Jacob Sanders, 30, of Brownsburg, sustained non-life threatening injuries, Goings said.

The crash is under investigation, but Goings said speed is believed to be a factor.

Lagana last raced in NHRA's Top Fuel circuit in 2018, while Crampton won the U.S. Nationals in 2014.

The Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals were held Thursday-Sunday at Lucas Oil Raceway.
