INDIANAPOLIS — There's no Indians baseball at Victory Field this season, but there is ice cream.

The American Dairy Association's Annual Ice Cream Social, now in its 31st year, has been moved this year from Monument Circle to the ballpark at Maryland and West streets.

It's Friday, July 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can drive up and purchase ice cream or you can walk into the Center Field Gate, buy your treat and eat it in the ballpark.

The event is a benefit for Second Helpings, the local organization that takes donated perishable and overstocked food and redistributes it to people in need. COVID-19 has increased the demand for food from people with financial difficulties and Second Helpings is preparing about 50,000 meals per-week now.

If you decide to use the drive-thru option, go south on West Street and turn into the entrance on the south side of Victory Field.

The ice cream is pre-packaged for safety.
