GRANT COUNTY — One person is dead and three people were injured in a crash Friday evening in Grant County.

Grant County Sheriff's deputies and emergency personnel were called just after 8 p.m. to County Road 350 North and County Road 400 East, northeast of Marion, on the report of a crash, Capt. Ed Beaty said in a press release. When they arrived, they found a truck and a car involved in the crash.

William Sparks, 55, of Warren, was killed in the crash, Beaty said. He was the driver of the car. A 52-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, was later flown by a medical helicopter to Ft. Wayne Lutheran Hospital. Her condition is unknown.

A 31-year-old woman, who was driving the truck, was taken to Marion General Hospital for treatment, Beaty said. An 18-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the truck, was also flown by a medical helicopter to Ft. Wayne Lutheran Hospital. Her condition is also unknown.

Investigators believe the truck failed to yield and struck the car's driver side door, Beaty said. The car stopped about 7 feet away and the truck stopped more than 13 feet away from the crash scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
