INDIANAPOLIS—Indianapolis police are investigating the discovery of a body on the city's northwest side.

A public information officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the body of an adult male was found in a field behind an auto dealership in the 5300 block of Pike Plaza Road.

That's just west of Lafayette Square.

Police say the body may have been in the field for some time.

An autopsy will be needed to determine the cause of death.

Police do not have an identity of the person at this time.

This is a developing story and will be updated as RTV 6 gathers additional information.
