INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis is one of the best cities in the country for women working in the tech industry, according to a study released by SmartAsset on Wednesday.

The Circle City landed the No. 4 spot in SmartAsset’s “2017 Best Cities for Women in Tech” list, up one spot from last year.

According to the study, there is virtually no gender pay gap in Indianapolis – in fact – women earn more than men. The median pay for women in computer and mathematical jobs in Indianapolis is about $1,300 more than the median pay for men with the same jobs.

Women also fill 28.5 percent of all tech jobs in Indy, and that is expected to go up 11% over the next four years.

After housing costs, women in Indianapolis have over $51,000 on average to spend on other living costs and savings.

Washington came in at No. 1 followed by Kansas City and Baltimore.
