CLERMONT — Motorists in Clermont can expect delays this week after work begins Monday to rebuild two roads that were determined to be failing by the town's road engineering firm.

Tansel Road will be closed from U.S. 136 north to the railroad tracks, and drivers should detour to Raceway Road. The second project will take place on 30th Street from Tansel to Bridgeport Road and will affect people driving to Robey Elementary School and Robey Park, according to the town.

Through traffic will be closed on both roads. Residents will be able to reach their homes on Tansel and 30th, but they should expect delays.

Crews will work on both projects throughout the week, beginning each day at dawn and ending around dusk. Work on 30th Street will stop from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. for school buses drop off and pick up students at Robey Elementary School. Parents should use other roads to get to the school.

Clermont's road engineering contractor, USI Consultants, determined both sections of roads were failing. The town received funding from the state last year through a Community Crossings grant to completely rebuild both roads, rather than rely on resurfacing or patching bad spots.

The town said work should be finished by the end of the week, weather permitting. Click here to see diagrams of the project.
