RUSHVILLE—Rushville's new City Center is open for business.

The 104-year-old building is a former Masonic temple purchased by the city and renovated at a cost of nearly $4 million dollars.

Located downtown, the City Center has many uses.

It houses city offices, there's a movie theater which can be used for other community events, and there is space for Ivy Tech Community College classrooms.

For years, Rushville residents wanting to see a first-run movie had to go out of town.

That's no longer the case, with the opening of the new Princess Theater on the same site as the original Princess.

Brian Sheehan, Rushville Director of Special Projects, says bonds and a $280,000 grant funded the project.

Ivy Tech will begin using the classroom space in September.

Rushville is the county seat of Rush County and is about 40-miles southeast of Indianapolis.
