Services and events happening In Central Indiana for Memorial Day 2020

INDIANAPOLIS — While several events have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some cities and organizations are still having Memorial Day services and events.

Some events will be held virtually this year due to the social distancing guidelines in place.

Here are some events happening in Central Indiana over Memorial Day weekend:

  • Visitors and staff members of the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs and Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Memorial Day. Visitors will be given a flag to place and their loved ones grave from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All visitors must follow social distancing guidelines.
  • A Memorial Day service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Sarah T. Bolton Park in Beech Grove. You can view more information on the service here.
  • Flags will be placed on Veterans' head stones starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary-Holy Cross/St. Joseph Cemetery. You can view more information here.
  • Tibbs Drive-In in Indianapolis has more screens and is showing several movies. You can learn more information and buy tickets here.
  • Harley-Davidson of Kokomo is hosting a Memorial Day ride starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. You can view more information here.
  • American Legion Post 182 in New Palestine is hosting a Memorial Day Ceremony of Honor starting at 1 p.m. Sunday. You can view more information here.
  • American Legion Post 34 in Indianapolis is hosting a ceremony starting at 1 p.m. Monday. View more information here.
