UNION COUNTY — Four people were killed in a two-car crash Sunday afternoon in Union County, according to state police.

Indiana State Police troopers and emergency personnel were called around 3:30 p.m. to the crash in the 2700 block of Nine Mile Road, ISP Sgt. John Bowling said in a press release. When they arrived, they found two vehicles involved in a head-on crash.

Investigators believe Savanna Kinder, 23, of Richmond, was driving southbound when she ran off the road, over corrected, crossed into the northbound lane, and hit a car, Bowling said. Kinder was killed in the crash.

Connor Brite, 22, of Decatur, was driving the other car involved in the crash and was killed, Bowling said. Jordan Fueling, 20, of Decatur and Trevor Ortiz, of Decatur, were in Brite's car and were also killed in the crash.

Excessive speed is believed to have been a cause of the crash, Bowling said. Everyone in both vehicles were wearing seatbelts.

Union County Sheriff's deputies, members of the Liberty and Richmond fire departments, and Spirit EMS, assisted troopers at the scene.
