Top six things to do in Indianapolis this (Fourth of July) weekend: June 30

INDIANAPOLIS – The long, anticipated Fourth of July weekend is here, and although you’ll most likely celebrate with grilled foods and fireworks, you’ll want to include some of our activities into your plans.

Here are your top six things to do in Indy this weekend:
Hoagie Eating Contest
Flat12 Bierwerks – 414 Dorman Street
Saturday at noon

Twenty brave souls will participate in the 18-inch hoagie eating contest to benefit Hoosier veterans. All competitors will receive a free t-shirt, but only the winner will be gifted one free 18-inch hoagie per month for one year.

Taste of Indy
Monument Circle
Saturday at 11 a.m.

The annual Taste of Indy showcases some of the city’s most well-known and upcoming eateries. It also includes live, local music and activities for the entire family. You’ll get a taste of soul, Caribbean, Mexican and comfort foods all in one place.

Bike Carmel
Carmel Arts and Design Center
Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Tour Carmel during Bike Carmel’s 10-mile or 25-mile scheduled rides. Restaurants, businesses and art galleries will stay open late and those who complete the route will be rewarded with Sun King beer.

Rooftop Garden Cocktail Lounge Dance Party
Fountain Square Theatre Building – 1111 Prospect Street
Saturday at 10 p.m.

Start your Fourth of July weekend on one of Indy’s rooftops. The Rooftop Garden Lounge dance party kicks off at 10 p.m. and a cash bar will be available.

Mini Golf at the IMA
Indianapolis Museum of Art – 4000 Michigan Road
Now through September 3

After a successful first summer, the IMA’s mini golf course has reopened. You can compete with your friends and family at the course featuring brand new holes created by some of the city’s favorite artists.

Food Truck Friday
Georgia Street – downtown Indy
Friday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The downtown Georgia Street boardwalk is full of your favorite food trucks every Friday. This week’s lineup includes: The Flying Cupcake, The Grub House, Johnson’s BBQ, Which Which, Big Ron’s Bistro and many more.
