INDIANAPOLIS — A two-alarm fire damaged Black Acre Brewing Company and at least two other businesses Saturday morning in Irvington.

Indianapolis Fire Department firefighters were called around 8:30 a.m. to the area of East Washington Street and North Ritter Avenue on the report of a building fire, IFD Public Information Officer Jason Kistler said. When they arrived, they saw smoke coming from the alley.

At least two other businesses, Guitar Town and Black Sheep Gifts, were affected by the fire, Kistler said. It appears the fire started at Black Acre Brewing Company. The extent of the damage is still being investigated.

Black Sheep Gifts will not be open today, but will have a pop-up shop open behind the store, owner Lisa Bennett said. The pop-up shop will be open from 1 p.m until at least 9 p.m.

"As today is the second busiest shopping day of the year, and due to the loss we sustained at the store, we are hoping for community support at our pop up," Bennett said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
