Two dead, one injured in Lafayette fire

LAFAYETTE — Investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that left two people dead early Friday morning in Lafayette.

The fire broke out at about 3 a.m. in an older house that had been converted into apartments in the 900 block of North 11th Street.

The Tippecanoe County Coroner confirmed two deaths in the fire. The names of the victims have not been released.

According to the Lafayette Fire Department, firefighters rescued a woman from one apartment. She was rushed to a local hospital.
