INDIANAPOLIS—A pair of Tuesday morning shootings, just blocks apart on the Indianapolis east side, sent a two-year-old and a teenager to the hospital.

A public information officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the incidents do not appear to be related.

Just after 6 a.m., a 17-year-old boy was shot and critically wounded north of Washington Street on Linwood Avenue. That's near East Washington and Emerson Avenue. Police say it's not clear if the victim was waiting for a school bus or walking in the area. No arrests have been made. Police are not saying if the shooting was a random act, or if the victim was targeted.

Then, about two-hours later, a two-year-old was shot in the wrist at a house in the 400 block of North Bradley Avenue. Police say the child is in stable condition at Riley Hospital for Children. Specifics about the shooting are not yet available, although police say the little boy did not shoot himself.

RTV6 will have additional information on both shootings as it becomes available
