INDIANAPOLIS — Two people are dead after police say a pickup truck ran a red light and t-boned another vehicle.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the scene at the intersection of 38th Street and Keystone Avenue just before midnight Monday evening.

Police say a man driving a pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed on 38th Street when he ran a red light and collided with a car. A man and woman inside the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

Delaney Frye, 23, and Nicolas Hatfield, 23, were killed in the crash, according to the Marion County Coroner's Office.

The pickup truck driver got out of his vehicle and ran but was apprehended nearby and transported to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in that crash, which remains under investigation.
