HANCOCK COUNTY — Two motorcyclists were seriously injured after being side swiped by a minivan Saturday afternoon in Hancock County.

Hancock County Sheriff's Office deputies and emergency personnel were called around 4:30 p.m. to the 9600 block of US 40 on the report of a crash involving two motorcyclists, Maj. Robert Campbell said in a press release.

The two motorcyclists, both from Indianapolis, were taken to an Indianapolis hospital by a medical helicopter in serious condition, Campbell said.

Investigators believe a minivan, driven by a 39-year-old woman, of Knightstown, sideswiped the two motorcyclists stopped on the side of the road, Campbell said. The driver of the minivan was not injured and is cooperating with authorities.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
