INDIANAPOLIS — How long does it take to build an elementary school playground? Seven hours, if you have enough volunteers.

That's about how many people took part in the project Monday at the Francis Parker Montessori School, 2353 Columbia Avenue on the city's east side.

Players, cheerleaders and staff from the Indianapolis Colts—fresh from Sunday's win at Tennessee—were among the volunteers. They were joined by groups from Indianapolis Public Schools, Rebuilding Together-Indianapolis, Sinclair Recreation, Lucas Oil Products and six other companies.

This is the 12th playground the Colts and partner groups have built in Indianapolis since 2008. According to the team, this year's effort is part of the NFL's "Huddle for 100," which is encouraging one million people nationwide to give 100 minutes of their time to a cause during the league's 100th season.

Francis Parker Montessori school is located near East 25th Street and Dr. Andrew J. Brown Avenue.
