NEWARK, N.J. — Newark Liberty International Airport has reopened after closing Saturday morning for an emergency.

All arrivals and departures were stopped Saturday morning due to an "airport emergency," according to a tweet from the airport. The airport reopened around 9:40 a.m. Saturday.

The airport was forced to stop flights after an United Airlines plane was forced to make an emergency landing.

Travelers are encouraged to check with airlines before coming to the airport and should expect delays.
