"Thursday Night Football" will air on CBS, NBC, NFL Network and likely online from a fourth video partner.

The NFL's weekly primetime matchup will evenly split 10 games between CBS and NBC during the 2016 and 2017 seasons, according to the league. The entire slate of games will be simulcast on NFL Network.

But three carriers apparently doesn't satisfy the NFL, as the league claimed it was "in active discussions with prospective digital partners" for streaming rights to "Thursday Night Football," according to a release.

"Thursday Night Football" first aired exclusively on NFL Network in 2006. Beginning in 2014, CBS aired a package of eight "Thursday Night Football" games which were also simulcast on NFL Network.

The addition of "Thursday Night Football" to NBC's schedule means the network will air two primetime NFL games for five weeks of the year, along with "Sunday Night Football."
