INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is considering body cameras for its offices, but before that can happen, the city wants to hear from the public.
IMPD is holding a series of public meetings, called "listening sessions," and the first is Monday at 6 p.m. at the Southeast Community Services Center, 901 S. Shelby St.

Officers will also be testing the cameras during a trial period.
Cost is a concern, but the Ten Point Coalition believes the cameras are a necessity.
"It builds trust, that an officer, whatever he or she is doing, is going to be on camera. So I would say that most people are in favor of the body cameras." said Reverend Charles Harrison," Ten Point Coalition Founder.
Reverend Harrison says video recorded by the cameras eliminates the "he said, she said," situation so common at some incidents.
