Police Investigate Northwest Side Shooting

Authorities: One Man Shot, One Suspect In Custody

An Indianapolis man was seriously injured after an early-morning shooting Saturday on the city's northwest side.

It happened in the driveway of a home in the 6500 block of Amick Way shortly after 6 a.m., police said.

Police were called out to the house on reports of shots fired. When they arrived they found Donnie Montgomery, 32, of Indianapolis, with a single gunshot wound to his back.

"Montgomery was rushed to St. Vincent Hospital in serious condition," said Kendale Adams, Indianapolis Metro Police spokesman.

Investigators said several witnesses at the home named a man, later identified as Quentin Mosby, who was possibly involved in the shooting.

Police took Mosby, 28, of Indianapolis, into custody and arrested him on suspicion of aggravated battery. Mosby was then taken to the Marion Couny Adult Arrestee Processing Center pending formal charges.
