Police Warn Of Door-To-Door Scam

Salespeople Claim They're Selling Books For Children's Hospital

Lafayette police are warning residents to be wary of door-to-door scammers who claim to be selling books for charity.

A resident told police that representatives with a company called WWC came to their door supposedly selling books to benefit Riley Hospital for Children.

The victim said they wrote a check for the books, but that the check was later altered, charging their account for $300.

Officials with Riley Hospital for Children said the hospital is not taking part in door-to-door book sales.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lafayette Police Department.
