INDIANAPOLIS — Another Democrat is jumping into a congressional race hoping to flip that seat.

Dee Thornton is expected to enter the race for the 5th District congressional seat.

It's an open race since Republican Susan Brooks isn't seeking re-election.

Thornton is a former business executive who lost to brooks in the 2018 general election.

Two other Democrats are already in the race — former state lawmaker Christina Hale and Jennifer Christie, who ran briefly in last year's Democratic primary but dropped out before the election.

The fifth district includes the north side of Indy, Hamilton County, Anderson and part of Kokomo.
