WASHINGTON, D.C. — A former U.S. representative from Indiana has registered as a lobbyist with multiple companies, according to Politico.

The political news website reported former Rep. Luke Messer, R-Ind., has lobbied on behalf of the following companies:

  • Energy Fuels – Uranium mining company
  • Ur-Energy – Uranium mining company
  • Solidarity Spectrum Health – Health-sharing ministry
  • Spectrum Health – Health care nonprofit

Messer served as the U.S. representative for Indiana’s 6th Congressional District from 2013-19. He also served in the Indiana House from 2003-06.

Under federal law, Messer (and other former U.S. representatives) are forbidden from lobbying to members of Congress for one year after leaving office. But that restriction doesn’t apply to the executive branch, which is where Messer said he has been lobbying.

“Most of my work is with folks at the White House,” he told Politico.
