INDIANAPOLIS — A Carmel Republican has entered the 2020 race for Indiana governor.

According to online campaign finance reports, Brian Roth filed his candidacy forms this week to challenge Gov. Eric Holcomb for the Republican nomination.

Roth appears to own a business called Employment 2 Deployment, which he started after some time in the United States Navy.

According to its website, Employment 2 Deployment helps “others unlock their leadership potential.”

He faces an uphill fight to win the Republican nomination, as Holcomb is heavily favored with a large financial lead.

To get on the primary ballot, Roth must obtain at least 4,500 signatures – 500 from each congressional district.

Roth did not immediately answer a request for comment Wednesday morning.
