INDIANAPOLIS -- The president of the police union, the Fraternal Order of the Police is making allegations of political corruption against the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department just hours before the Police Merit Board hearing to decide the professional fate of the two officers involved in the deadly shooting of Aaron Bailey is set to begin.

In the video posted on YouTube Monday evening, FOP President Rick Snyder raised questions about the process IMPD followed surrounding the shooting death of Aaron Bailey last June.

"We have observed a systematic approach by the leaders of Indianapolis and its police department to exert inappropriate influence by means of relying upon politically appointed personnel during the administrative review this was combined with the not so subtle intimidation of employees and delays of discovery in the subsequent disciplinary process."

IMPD Police Chief Bryan Roach has recommended that the two officers involved, Carlton Howard and Michal Dinnsen, be fired, even though a special prosecutor cleared them of any charges in the shooting.

The three-day hearing is set to begin Tuesday morning.

IMPD released the following statement in response Monday evening.

"Out of respect for the process we will not be commenting on the video."
