What you need to know about voting today

INDIANAPOLIS -- It's Election Day! 

Polls are open from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. across Indiana. 

Here's what you need to know about voting in today's election:

  • Before casting a ballot, you need a government-issued ID with a photo. 
  • To know where to go to vote, click hereand enter your name, county and date of birth. 
  • You can also click here to find out who is on your ballot. You must choose either a Democratic or Republican ballot when you vote. 
  • Leave your campaign clothes at home. Indiana law prohibits campaigning within 50 feet of a polling place and includes restrictions on who may enter polling places. Voters may not wear clothing advocating the election of any candidate.
  • There are two options at the polls -- using a paper ballot or the electronic touch screen option.
