The casket that Aretha Franklin will be buried in was made in Indiana.
The solid bronze Promethean casket was made by the Batesville Casket Company in southeast Indiana.
Even though it looks gold-plated, the company says only the hardware is plated with 14 Karat Gold.
The legendary soul singer died Thursday from advanced pancreatic cancer. She was 76.
Thousands of mourners are expected to pass by the open casket during the two-day public visitation for the singer at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit.
Franklin’s funeral will be held Friday for friends and family .
She will be entombed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit.
